Here's another good Sunday report! Our AC held on, and we had a great time of worship this morning!
Dewey preached a powerful and sobering sermon about religious hypocrisy from Matthew 3. I know many of our folks were away traveling, and I hope you will take some time to listen to his message online--it was really terrific (you can find all our sermons by clicking the Sermons, Etc. menu button at our website, NewHopeConnection.com). We also shared in communion as a church family. Cassie and I sang a song I wrote called All Because, and you can hear our live rendition online as well.*
And this afternoon our softball team evened its record at 2-2 by beating one of Creekside's teams in a fun game! The lead went back and forth, and we held on to win 11-9. We play Creekside's other team next week, and I hope some of you will come cheer us on after enjoying our after-church barbecue!
Once again, it's a privilege to serve with a gifted teacher like Dewey, an awesome group like the New Hope Band, and a wonderful church family like New Hope Christian Fellowship. I look forward to meeting again next week!
*By the way, did you know I have a professionally recorded CD with some of the songs we sing on Sunday mornings? My friend Hank (who comes to play sax for us every once in a while) and I put together a CD that includes All Because, The House of the Lord, He Is Lord of All, Our God Is Worthy to Be Praised and six other theologically-based modern worship songs. They're only $10, and I've got some on hand at the church, or you can email me and I'll get them to you!
